FAQ

What is the cost of acupuncture treatments?

Initial Consult WITH acupuncture (1 hour) is $135

Follow-ups (35-40min long) $85

Do you accept medical insurance?

Yes! Please use the orange button on our homepage to verify your insurance. Once you submit your insurance information, it takes our team approximately 48 hours to verify your coverage. We will email you what we find out about your coverage.

What do I do before my acupuncture treatment?

Make sure you eat and drink before your treatment and do not come on an empty stomach. Acupuncture does use your energy and burn calories so you need to make sure that you have “fuel” in your body. You do not need to be completely full, but definitely not starving.

What do I wear to my acupuncture appointment?

Anything. We have sheets and towels in case you need to disrobe.

What should I do after my acupuncture treatment?

Do not exercise and drink plenty of water. Walking after your acupuncture is fine. You will feel calm and relaxed so avoid strenuous activities after your acupuncture treatment.

How many treatments will I need?

Dr. Patel will need to evaluate you first and can provide you with some feedback for your ailment during your first visit. There is no set number of treatments in order to see results. Everyone is different and some people see results sooner than others.

Conditions acupuncture does not treat:

  • Hernia/bulging disc- temporary relief can be offered with acupuncture but it will not correct a structural problem
  • broken bones
  • active shingles
  • DVT- deep vein thrombosis
  • bone spur
  • osteoporosis
  • cancer- acupuncture is helpful to treat the side effects of chemotherapy and radiation but it is not used to treat cancer.

How long will it take to get pregnant?

Unfortunately, there is no one in the world that can provide that information. Dr. Patel has great results and she takes good care of her patients every step of the way during their fertility process. Dr. Patel is boarded by the American Board of Oriental Reproductive Medicine and stays up to date on the latest fertility research for both western and eastern medicine. Using knowledge gained from her undergraduate degree in Nutrition and her master and doctorate degrees in Oriental medicine, she is able to provide patients nutritional and supplemental support/recommendations before, during, and after pregnancy.

Does Dr. Patel work with IVF patients?

Absolutely! In fact, Dr. Patel probably knows your reproductive endocrinologist and vice versa! She works with patients from across the nation helping them prepare for IVF/FET. Having a boarded, knowledgeable, and skilled acupuncturist for your fertility needs is crucial for the outcome of your procedure(s).

Are the results guaranteed?

No- healthcare is not guaranteed.

What percentage of your fertility patients become pregnant?

We do not keep stats on our patients. However, there is a wall of baby pictures displayed in our office that shows just a portion of the babies who were brought into this world because of Dr. Patel’s expertise and the treatments performed here. Dr. Patel is boarded in the fertility field, has an extensive background, and has seen success in helping patients get pregnant for 18 years.

Can I still come in for acupuncture once I am pregnant?

Yes, absolutely. It helps with circulation and overall pregnancy health.
